West View Park is situated on a hillside immediately adjacent to the unenclosed common land of Ilkley Moor, and can be reached by a few minutes' walk from the Town Centre, on pavement or via the attractive wooded ravine of Mill Ghyll.

The site is bounded on the south and east sides by an unenclosed minor road; on the west by the grounds of Bradford & Ilkley Community College; and on the north side by an unenclosed college access drive, beyond which are further areas of public open space.

A particular feature of West View Park and these associated public open spaces is that they form a pedestrian link between the town centre and the moor, popular with both local residents and tourist visitors.
